Basic Media Terminology

Camera Shots
-Close up: A close shot that normally shows an actor from the waist up.
-Extreme close up; A shot that signifies a certain object or facial expression. Adds more importance to what is in the focus when having the zoomed in shot.
-Long shot; A shot from far away, can show an actors full body.
-Extra long shot; A shot from very far away, mostly used to show a setting/world characters are in.

Camera Angles

Front view; View showing front of a character/ characters.
side view: profile Of a character. 
birdseye view: from above 
over the shoulder: self explanatory 

Camera Movements

tracking: following something 
 panning: gradual movement across point of focus 

180 Degree rule

All shots must be filmed from one side of the actors to maintain the realism.
